Terms of use

§1. General provisions

These Terms of Use set out the rules for visiting and participating in events organised by the Fort Photography Institute Foundation (IFF), located in Warsaw (02-634) at Fort Mokotów, 6 Władysława Szpilmana Street.
These Terms apply to all persons on IFF premises, including visitors, event participants, organized groups, and anyone using the institution’s facilities.
Entering the IFF premises constitutes acceptance of these Terms of use.

Visits can be self-guided or conducted as part of tours led by IFF staff or authorised personnel.
Admission to most exhibitions organised by IFF is free, unless otherwise stated for a specific event.
Certain events, particularly workshops, guided tours, or meetings, require registration or an entry ticket, as indicated in the event details.
Visitors are expected to take care, respect the exhibition spaces, and follow the instructions and guidance of IFF staff.
IFF reserves the right to temporarily close parts of the premises or exhibitions for technical or organisational reasons.

On IFF premises, the following are strictly prohibited:
- bringing weapons, hazardous materials, or any items that may pose a danger,
- touching exhibits or installation elements, unless otherwise indicated,
- running, making excessive noise, or engaging in any behaviour that disrupts the visit or may cause damage.
Children under 12 may only be present in exhibitions when accompanied by an adult.
IFF staff have the right to warn visitors who breach these rules or to request that they leave the premises, without entitlement to a ticket refund.
In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow the instructions of IFF staff and the relevant safety personnel.

Photography for personal use is permitted, provided that flash, tripods, or additional lighting are not used.
Photography or filming for commercial, professional, or media purposes requires prior permission from IFF.
For exhibitions containing works protected by copyright, IFF staff may request that visitors stop recording images.

Alcohol consumption is prohibited on gallery premises, except at events where IFF permits it.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed.
Other animals may only be brought on-site if they do not pose a danger or disrupt visits; IFF staff will make the final decision.
Anyone behaving aggressively, under the influence of alcohol, or posing a safety risk may be asked to leave the premises.

The IFF gallery is located on the ground floor and is free of architectural barriers.
The path leading to the entrance may have uneven surfaces due to the historical structure of Fort Mokotów.
The IFF reading room is located on the first floor and can only be accessed by stairs. Visitors who are unable to use the reading room due to architectural barriers may ask staff for assistance in accessing selected publications on the ground floor or for materials to be provided for consultation. Assistance is provided subject to the institution’s organisational capabilities.
The restroom is located on the gallery’s ground floor but is not suitably adapted for people with disabilities.

The schedule of events, workshops, and guided tours is published on the IFF website.
Group bookings and reservations for schools and universities should be submitted to: biuro@fiff.org.pl.
IFF reserves the right to change the program, event start times, and the number of participants.
Failure to attend an event despite having a ticket or reservation does not constitute grounds for a refund, unless the rules of a given event state otherwise.

IFF makes selected spaces available for cultural, educational, commercial, and photographic events.

IFF is not responsible for the personal belongings of visitors and event participants.
Items found on the gallery premises should be reported at the reception desk or via email.

IFF is not liable for damage to property or personal injury caused by the fault of a visitor, in particular resulting from failure to comply with these regulations, staff instructions, or safety rules.
IFF is not responsible for damages resulting from force majeure, random events, or the actions of third parties for which the institution is not responsible.
IFF’s liability for damages to visitors is limited to cases where the damage resulted from intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the institution or its employees.
Visitors are responsible for any damage they cause, including damage caused by children under their care or animals they bring onto the premises.

Photographs and recordings documenting events, exhibition spaces, and the institution’s activities may be made on IFF premises.
Images of individuals captured as part of a larger whole (e.g., event photos, space documentation), where the person is not the main subject of the frame, may be used by IFF in accordance with Article 81(2) of the Polish Copyright Act.
Recorded materials may be published:
- on the IFF website,
- on social media,
- in printed, informational, and promotional materials of the institution,
- in activity reports.
If a person’s image is the main subject of a photo or recording, IFF will obtain that person’s consent, unless the material was created as part of coverage of a public event.
Individuals who do not consent to being recorded may inform an IFF staff member before beginning their visit.
Information about photography and recording is displayed at the gallery entrance.

Entering the IFF premises constitutes acceptance of these terms of use.
Participation in events also constitutes acceptance of the provisions regarding the recording and use of images referred to in §11.
Persons who do not accept the terms of use are requested to leave the gallery premises.

IFF reserves the right to amend these regulations. The current version is published on the institution’s website.
In matters not regulated herein, the provisions of Polish law shall apply.
These regulations enter into force on the date of their publication.
